How we calculate this

  1. We use your total annual conversations, the number of agents you employ, and the annual cost of each agent to determine the average cost per conversation.
  2. We use a conservative automated resolution rate for each channel to determine the number of annual conversations that we can automatically resolve. At Ada, we only count quality automated resolutions, not containment or deflection. We only consider a conversation automatically resolved when it is accurate, relevant and safe — without the intervention of a human. The assumptions for automated resolution per channel are as follows: Messaging AR% = 30%. Email AR% = 30%, Phone AR%= 20%, Social/SMS AR%= 30%
  3. We determine your year one cost savings opportunity by taking the number of automatically resolved conversations and multiplying them by the average cost per conversation (as calculated above).
    1. We calculate cost savings opportunities over three years by assuming a 10% year over year growth rate in conversation volume, as well as a conservative 30% year over year automated resolution rate improvement (based on Ada’s continuous coaching and improvement approach to AI Agents).
  4. We determine your cumulative hours of human labour saved by dividing the annual cost saving opportunity by the cost of a single human agent, and then multiplying the total by a standard number of annual hours for an agent to work (assuming a 40 hour work week, and 2 week vacation, totalling 2000 hours a year).
